I saw an add for the new Gillette Fusion on television last night. They‘re touting the fact that it has 5 blades, and a microprocessor controlled power regulator to control the voltage they send to the little vibrating mechanism they use (a‘la the M3Power, but more sophisticated).
I‘ll be the first to admit that Gillette razors seem to work the best for me (I even own an M3Power, by the suggestion of co-worker Reggie), but it‘s seemed that with each new release, while the razor shaves better, the blades wear out sooner. The blade cartridges also get more expensive with each new variant of the “Mach3”.
Rather than adding more blades (and more cost), how about making the blades last longer Gillette? How about adding something like diamond-like nano-films to keep that sharp edge, or making the things easier to keep clean so I don‘t have to install a new cartridge every week ;)
